Honda first commenced production of cars in 1963 with the S500 – Honda’s first sports car – and the T360 light truck. With racing in Soichiro Honda’s company philosophy, to showcase its engineering and product development, Honda made its first four-wheel racing debut in 1964 at the F1 German Grand Prix.

During the last 45 years, Honda Motor Co., Ltd and Honda (UK) has enjoyed numerous four-wheel racing successes and victories, although for 2009, Honda (UK) has chosen to withdraw from its UK car racing partnerships for this year as part of its overall review of racing activities.
